Karen joined MCDD in April 2015 as the District Accountant, working in the Finance department. The priority at the time was to help implement the new web-based accounting software, Accufund, which she now maintains for the five districts. She is responsible for the monthly and quarterly IGA invoicing for MCDD, PEN1, PEN2 and SDIC including the IFA invoicing for the more recently formed JCA. Newer projects include the Development Review process where she is responsible for tracking costs and invoicing applicants for the four districts. She is a New York native and studied Accounting at CW Post Long Island University. Karen moved to Oregon in 1995 and has over 30 years of experience in the Finance and Accounting field. She has worked in many industries which include wholesale, hospitality, construction, financial services and international footwear sourcing. Having been the Controller for companies in these many different private industries was helpful in adapting to the more rewarding local government work. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her rescue German Shepherds, cats and chickens on a few acres in Oregon City.
